Those who love to make customizations before they place any order will find Toshiba Tecra A4-S312TD a good friend of theirs. The notebook offers numerous options when it comes to the choice of components such as processor, screen, graphics card etc.

Starting off with the processor, the base model is equipped with an Intel Pentium M 740 that is clocked at 1.73GHz and holds a 2MB L2 cache. This is good enough for the average user but as we mentioned above, the notebook is for customization minded people. Hence the available choices for Pentium M Processor are 750, 760, 770 and 780 that are respectively clocked at 1.86GHz, 2.0GHz, 2.13GHz and 2.26GHz.

Tecra A4-S312TD is an impressive machine that lets you accomplish all of your computing tasks comfortably and keeps you in good company after the work hours.

It boasts of a 15.4" Widescreen display at 1280x800 native resolution. For an extra $50, you can also opt for the anti-reflective TruBrite technology which further enhances the viewing experience by offering brilliant colors, sharper contrast, wider viewing angles, increased brightness etc. Basically, the TruBrite screen makes all of this happen by not reflecting most of the external light back to the user and by amplifying the light generated by the LCD itself. You can learn a great deal about Toshiba TruBrite screens at SkreenTek's website.

Moving on to the graphics card, depending on your after work entertainment requirements, you'll find yourself content with one of the two available upgrades. It's either ATI Mobility Radeon X600 or nVidia GeForce Go 6600. The former offers 64MB of dedicated video RAM while the latter powers your laptop with 128MB of the same. Settling for the default Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 may not prove economical in the long-run.

As for memory, upto 2GB of high speed DDR2 SDRAM can be installed on your notebook while the base model comes with 256MB RAM. Storage capacity ranges from 40GB to 80GB. Toshiba Tecra A4-S312TD employs Serial ATA hard disk technology.
