Satellite X205-S9810 features a 17" TruBrite display with WXGA+ native resolution. That is, it can display 1440 x 900 pixels on the screen. Since the optical drive on this model is not high-definition, you won't need resolution higher than this but incase you ever upgrade the drive, you've the option of an HDMI port to connect your laptop with an HDTV and play high definition media over an external screen.

Satellite X205-S9810 has 6 USB ports, which is a good number considering that normally desktop replacements have 4 or 5 USB ports. In addition, the machine covers the bases with a FireWire, VGA, S-Video, ExpressCard that supports /34 as well as /54 formats etc.

The X205 series has other models that are equipped with SLI technology, i.e. those models make use of two graphics cards in their architecture and hence can perform better for games that support SLI.

But for games that do not support SLI, these other models will actually only be using one of their graphics cards. Hence X205-S9810 will perform equal if not better in these cases and thus it really depends upon the kind of games you play and whether these have been upgraded to make us of SLI technology or not.

Since Satellite X205-S9810 is a gaming and entertainment platform, the speakers bear Harmon Kardon's name and are integrated with a subwoofer. The result is excellence in sound quality and no distortion even at highest volume setting.

The notebook is also equipped with a webcam, a fingerprint reader and an Intel Wireless-N WiFi card.

Satellite X205-S9810 almost weighs 9 and a half pounds, but then you are not planning to take this machine often on the road except for those few gaming parties.

Overall, this is a good offer for a low cost gaming machine that can also be used as an entertainment laptop.
