R15-S822
The
Toshiba Satellite R15-S822 Tablet PC design enables users to take notes
and write emails without having to use the keyboard. One can even browse
the net with the very same pen that delivers this feature.
Actually many users are a little amazed at the ability of the system to
comfortably read very poor handwriting.
At first glance most people criticize this machine for being bulkier and
bigger than previous Toshiba Tablet PCs. Still the display screen swivels
and easily twists a full 180 degrees and at 14.1 inches is adequate. The
fact that the screen can be folded flat against the keyboard allows for
full tablet mode.
Additionally, the combination of a 60 GB hard drive and 1.6 GHz processor
speed is powerful and can easily, almost effortlessly, carry any application
and perform any heavy task. The processor is a Pentium M (Centrino) and
the hard drive runs at 4200 RPM. Coupled with the installed RAM of 512
MB, there are few that would claim that the Toshiba Satellite R15-S822
has inadequate power.
To say a little more about the Pentium M processor, it is actually specially
designed for low-power (or battery powered) mobile usage. It is for this
reason that it contains the very latest in energy conserving technology.
This allows users more usage and more power for a longer time on battery.
In addition the 400 MHz FSB (front-side bus) together with the large 2
MB L2 cache are all capable of helping speed up your computer's performance.
What all this means is that users can even push the rechargeable lithium
battery beyond the 4 hours that the manufacturer recommends. This should
be quite a plus for those to whom battery life away from the mains is
important.
The Toshiba Satellite R15-S822 is capable of accommodating a wide range
of peripheral equipment through its 3 USB 2.0 ports. This includes attaching
digital cameras and MP3 players.
