M60-S8112TD
At
around $1,250, the Toshiba Satellite M60-S8112TD is considered inexpensive
in comparison to similar offerings in the market.
What many users like immediately about this 7.3 pound baby is the colossal
17-inch screen size. Mainly because notebooks with similar size screens
usually cost upwards of $2,000.
However others have complained that the Celeron M Processor is not as
fast and efficient as processors found in similarly priced notebooks.
Many of them point to the ThinkPad R40 which costs around $1,300 but has
a Pentium M processor. This shortcoming is somehow made even worse by
the fact that the Toshiba Satellite M60-S8112TD only has 256 MB RAM. Again
this is also less than some similarly priced notebooks that are currently
in the market. The common example given here is the HP Compaq Presario
R470us that has 1 GB Ram and is priced at about $1,130.
Other complaints are that the Toshiba Satellite M60-S8112TD comes with
very basic entry-level word processing that most complex-document-creating
users will need to upgrade.
Still this is a great buy for users looking to keep their budgets low.
Actually the 128 MB of dedicated RAM does make a huge difference in performance
for certain functions when compared with other notebooks in the same category.
For instance users are bound to enjoy the superior performance of multimedia
and games on this notebook, all because of this feature.
There is also the fact that using this notebook's Firewire port, many
digital camcorders can be connected for rapid uploading of data to the
hard drive. The Toshiba Satellite M60-S8112TD notebook also boasts of
USB 2.0 support. This means that you can transfer data faster between
peripherals and at the same time still be compatible to the older version
USB 1.1 devices. Many users find this factor great and extremely useful.
As they do the Toshiba Satellite M60-S8112TD.
