Review Specifications Compare Prices

Review Date: 10th November' 2006

There's nothing novel or groundbreaking in Toshiba Satellite A110-ST1111. It can rather be compared with older Dell Inspiron B120 or B130 models. However, the model is still a good choice for those looking for a new notebook in a very tight budget.

Weighing just below six pounds, and currently priced at $549, the Toshiba Satellite A110-ST1111 still offers a decent screen size of 15.4 inches, widescreen for an enhanced movie watching experience.

First of the shortcomings is a 1.46GHz Celeron M processor that doesn't deliver much for today's demanding applications. Couple it with a mere 256MB installed RAM and you have a very measured computing platform. However that may not deter the basic user who is merely looking for a mobile platform to perform her everyday tasks.

Apart from the processor and memory, the hardware configuration consists of a 40GB hard disk, a combo drive, an Atheros wireless LAN and an ATI Radeon Express 200M graphics system. No bells and whistles included.

Filling in the market gap for a low priced yet brand new notebook, this model still offers a pleasurable experience. It features media buttons that allow one to play movies or listen to music without booting the system first. A timesaver indeed at this bargain price.
