Continued From VAIO VGN-TZ195N/XC Page 1

Thanks to the LED backlight, VGN-TZ195N's display is great and you get to enjoy excellent contrast, brightness and details. Even if your usage is limited to web browsing, you'll feel the difference. However the real fun is while watching movies on this display, though the screen real estate is tiny, it still is a good companion on air flights. And with a battery life that goes well beyond 3 and half hours on DVD drain tests, you still have plenty of time for work after watching the movie or vice versa.

Have no confusion with the above mentioned battery life for watching movies. As for computing on the go with office applications, browsing etc with wireless on and screen set to decent brightness, you can expect anywhere from 6 to 7 hours of productivity.

The 11.1" form is pretty limited for ports and expansion slots and VGN-TZ195N/XC comes with bare basics. It has two USB ports, A FireWire, VGA-out, a media card reader and an ExpressCard /34.

The 1.2GHz ultra low voltage processor is not the one to rely on for CPU intensive and demanding tasks. However, VGN-TZ195N/XC doesn't encounter any performance issues for everyday tasks such as watching movies, Internet browsing, running Photoshop, using office applications etc.

You get a Motion Eye web camera with this model and speakers are also better than the average notebooks out there. Security will be a prime concern for the business minded and VAIO TZ195N comes equipped with a fingerprint reader and Trust Platform Module.

Also a zephyr for the corporate minded is the wide range of options for wireless connectivity. Not only you can access Wi-Fi networks up to the range of draft-N, but you can also make use of the integrated mobile broadband facility via subscribing to Sprint's service.

It's a little disappointing to see the machine pre-loaded with bloatware, specially at this price, but luckily un-installing is always an option.

The price you pay for VGN-TZ195N/XC is substantial. But considering you get a powerful ultraportable with an integrated optical drive, LED backlight display, Solid State Drive, integrated mobile broadband, all weighing a mere 2.65lbs also sound like a big shoulder relief to many of the busy executives out there. Last but not the least, the deal also includes a leather carrying case.
