VAIO VGN-TX670P is Sony's latest addition to the emergent need of ultra portable notebooks and it can be regarded as a noteworthy addition since it provides one of the most comprehensive set of connectivity features as well as is equally prepared to deal with the professional and multimedia demands.

The nucleus of the machine is Intel's Ultra low voltage processor, Pentium M 753 having clock speed of 1.2GHz with Intel's 915GMS chipset. Put in the whopping 1GB of DDR2 Memory with 60GB ultra ATA hard disk storage and we obtain a very sleek ultra portable notebook having first-class battery life.

TX670P's notably light weight is due to manufacturer’s choice of using different material to cover the machine. They have used carbon fiber alloy instead of magnesium alloy so as to innovate a notebook which is significantly less in weight, weighing only 2.7 pounds, as compared to its predecessor.

The notebook has an impressive display with the ground-breaking XBrite widescreen technology. The screen has quite a matchless size of 11.1 inches and an odd resolution of 1366 by 768 pixels, which makes viewing DVD's on TX670P a whole new wide screen experience.

The ultra portable comes with a dual-layer DVD±RW drive which is able to handle dual layer DVD disc, which is rather a handy feature since DVD's are rapidly swapping CD's as software and multimedia storage. Dual-layer DVD is able of storing up to 8.5GB of data.

The machine consists of all the required ports which can be the prerequisite of home and professional users. It includes three USB 2.0 ports, four-pin FireWire, VGA and a PCI Express card slot.

The area where this machine can be a serious disappointment is its incompetent graphics card. Even though, Intel's integrated graphics subsystem is good enough for professional work and watching DVD videos on the go but the absence of a high quality video graphics card is felt.

The ultra portable has the most absolute set of features in terms of connectivity choices as compared to its counterparts. It is set with the innovatory EDGE technology in addition to other indispensable connectivity options such as LAN, modem, 802.11b/g, and Bluetooth. These state of the art technologies give an extra edge to the significance of the notebook.

The utmost battery life of TX670P is just over 5 hours which is not as much of its predecessor TX350P's of over 6 hours battery life but it's still effective enough for standard portable usage.

The VAIO VGN-TX670P is targeted towards the executive class; the people who spend large portion of their time roaming and also for gadget lovers. It’s rather costly for the general purpose and non-traveling users who usually do not need such a high tech and light-weight notebook.

Sony's VAIO VGN-TX670P is a noteworthy development as compared to its prior version VGN-TX350P in terms of design, style and innovatory features but it's not for the masses.
