Review Specifications Compare Prices

For the top of the line Palm, the Tungsten T5 can't be beat. This PDA is loaded to the hilt with hardware and memory for plenty of software. You pay for the additional features but you will likely find this one for under $270.

Some of the features you should expect to enjoy with the Tungsten T5 are:

  • Bluetooth compatibility for synching your email
  • Expense tracker
  • MP3 player built-in
  • Scheduler, similar to the calendar feature
  • Web browser
  • Large, very clear color screen
  • Expandable memory that is compatible with MMC, SDIO and SD cards
  • 160MB storage, the highest of all the Palm models
  • Rechargeable Lithium battery
  • Backlit display
  • Included keypad, in addition to the stylus and touch screen
  • Lightweight and small enough to fit in a pocket
Now for the bad news. You will probably have problems transferring data and programs from one PDA to the Tungsten T5, even another Palm. New problems, especially when installing third party programs (not made by Palm or made for the Palm OS…but compatible with it) make the T5 a bit difficult for first time PDA users.

Synching problems, a hitch with most PDAs regardless of brand, aren't fixed in the T5. There is no WiFi to give you other online options, so you're stuck with the synching problems of Bluetooth.

Accessories of other models aren't compatible with the T5 so expect to pay to replace all the add-on bits.

This is a great handheld and with just a few more features it could be the PDA pinnacle.
