If you are looking for the best of the best made by Palm, currently the LifeDrive is it. With 32 TIMES the storage space of most other high-end handhelds, the LifeDrive is revolutionizing the PDA market in America. Features of the LifeDrive include.

  • Massive 4 gigabyte (that's the same as 32 x 128 MB, the storage offered by most other top-of-the-line PDAs) internal storage
  • WiFi included with the Ethernet card
  • Large screen with great color
  • High quality audio recording and playback
  • High quality video recording and playback
  • Bluetooth Compatibility
  • Integrated MP3 player
  • MMC, SDIO, USB and SD Slots for additional storage
  • Control pad, stylus and touch screen input methods
But there are also some shortcomings in the LifeDrive, like:
  • Few devices are included and no cradle
  • Short battery life - as little as four hours of continuous use
  • Battery is not replaceable by the user
  • Thicker than most PDAs, .75 inches thick
  • Heavier than many PDAs at 6.8 ounces
  • Intermittently locks up and resets
  • Power button often hit accidently when being stowed in case
  • Application launch sluggish
  • Not the quickest processor speed at only 416 MHz (others offer 512 or even 624 MHz)
  • Third party software is often not compatible with LifeDrive, most notably medical software

The Palm LifeDrive is the first massive storage PDA in the US so far. In the future, the mass storage in a handheld market will likely boom and the LifeDrive is a great start.
