Although it's relatively light, the ThinkPad T60p is not lacking in power. It features Intel's Centrino Duo mobile-optimized twin-core processor operating at 2.16 GHz. Thanks to one gigabyte of RAM and a 100 GB serial ATA hard drive, this laptop's performance can keep pace with almost any desktop.

The T60p also features strong display capabilities, using an ATI Mobility FireGL V5200 chipset with 512 MB of on-board RAM. This chipset creates a crisp 1600x1200 resolution on the fifteen inch screen. The video adapter supports OpenGL, which allows it to be used for graphics-intensive business applications like AutoCAD. It also supports an external display, which is a nice feature if you're considering using it as a desktop replacement.

The T60p comes with a built-in combo DVD/CD-RW drive, but this laptop was not created for heavy multimedia users. Its video capabilities function well with graphics-intensive business applications, but users accustomed to using a laptop for heavy gaming would not be satisfied with its performance.

Although the T60p is packed with features and above average performance, the battery life does not suffer. The battery is rated to last for as long as 5.2 hours. It is also rated to provide over four hours of battery life when connected to a wireless network. It can connect to a wireless network through built-in Wi-Fi, and also comes standard with built-in Bluetooth.
