ThinkPad X40 Memory
Notebook Reviews > IBM ThinkPad > X40 > Memory

If you are in love with your ultra-thin X40, you won't regret upgrading the system memory to improve its performance. However, there's a slight problem. The 256MB base memory is non-removeable, limiting the maximum upgrade capacity to 1.25GB. Still this should be good enough for most.

In addition to the now mandatory PC2700 support, X40 also allows for PC2100 memory installation, however the RAM will then run at 266MHz only.

You can buy the following upgrade modules from IBM's website or other online memory stores:

31P9828 - ThinkPad 128MB SDRAM
31P9830 - ThinkPad 256MB SDRAM
31P9832 - ThinkPad 512MB SDRAM
31P9834 - ThinkPad 1GB SDRAM

Memory Upgrades For Other IBM ThinkPad Notebooks:
Z60m Memory, Z60t Memory, R50e Memory, T42 Memory, X40 Memory, G41 Memory
