ThinkPad T42 is an excellent model that normally comes with 256MB or 512MB of RAM. To further boost the performance of this notebook, you can upgrade the memory up to a limit of 2GB maximum.

T42 supports the PC2700 standard and memory runs at 333MHz on this system. However, it also supports the now obsolete PC2100 standard and the installed RAM will run at 266MHz then.
