Genie in a bottle - that's perhaps what you can call LifeBook S7020 and specially its enhanced version. It's packed with powerful features, weighs only 4.4 lbs and is a reliable thin and light notebook.

To start off, LifeBook S7020 is equipped with Intel Centrino technology. It utilizes Intel 915GM Express chipset with PRO/Wireless 2195 ABG network connection that as the name suggests, supports any of 802.11a, b or g bands. So busy professionals will find their mobile computing experience even more satisfactory with the ability to access data at warp speeds while at a remote location.

When it comes to the processor type, the notebook offers two options. Either Pentium M 740 or Pentium M 760. For the latter one, you have to buy the enhanced version. This will also provide you with 100GB hard disk space, while the normal one will offer 80GB.

The S7020 makes use of the 533MHz DDR2 RAM in its hardware architecture. Couple this high speed RAM with dual channel operation and you can find yourself more productive with your applications. And incase you have more to deal with graphics and presentations, the notebook is integrated with Intel Graphics Media 900 which should be good enough. The just mentioned graphics card can claim up to 128MB of memory for video applications from your OS, thereby enhancing your graphics experience.

Apart from the wireless connection that we spoke of earlier, the notebook has lots of connectivity options. These include a Gigabyte LAN connection feature based on PCI Express x1 technology. Others are 56k modem, infrared etc. And not to forget that BlueTooth is available with the enhanced model.

S7020 LifeBook supports the ExpressCard technology. For those unfamiliar with ExpressCards, these are 75mm long and usually 5mm thick cards that allow one to add hardware capabilities such as storage, communications etc to his notebook via simply inserting these modular expansion modules.

The 14" TFT screen offers 1024 x 768 resolution only while competitive models offer up to 1400 x 1050 native resolution at similar prices.

S7020 boasts of many security highlights. The LifeBook Lock, which is a configurable combination of up to 5 strokes on the Quick Launch Panel, can keep the notebook from powering on if not entered successfully. To add another layer of security, you can protect files or email accounts with passwords as unique as your finger prints. The notebook has a built-in Finger Print sensor that works well.
