Review Specifications Compare Prices

Featuring a wide 17" Superfine TFT screen, this notebook is more than just a desktop replacement. You see, Fujitsu has gone to great lengths to make the N6220's display the best in its class and all for one good reason - the built-in TV Tuner.

With its magnificent wide screen display, built-in TV tuner and the bundled remote control unit the Fujitsu LifeBook N6220 promises to be a great and convenient way to watch your favorite television programs. In addition to that, the 120GB hard drive ensures that you always have ample space to record those shows for later viewing or for burning onto DVDs using the dual-layer DVD burner included. And in keeping with the TV-tuner centered approach Fujitsu has equipped the LifeBook N6220 with not only the usual stereo speakers but with a built-in sub-woofer as well. The TV experience is now complete.

But Let me state from the get go that this is not a notebook you would want to carry around with you due to it's heavy weight (4.3 kg) and the battery life is rather short (under two hours) plus it's actually quite large; but then again, it was designed as a desktop replacement.

Fortunately the big size offers many advantages as mentioned above (like the 17" wide screen) additionally the LifeBook N6220 is equipped with a full-featured keyboard including the numeric keypad.

Graphics performance is impressive for a notebook and some good games can indeed be played at reasonable quality and frame rate levels. This is due to the ATI Mobility Radeon X600 graphics chip included using PCI Express x16 and up to 256MB Hypermemory which is basically "borrowed" from the main system memory but with 1GB DDR2 (Max 2GB) of system memory included with the N6220 this is fine indeed.

Overall the Fujitsu LifeBook N6220 promises to be a very attractive desktop replacement with a great screen, entertainment capabilities and good performance. If you don't mind the fact that it's not meant for mobile operation then you can't go wrong with the N6220.
