Fujitsu LifeBook N3410
Notebook Reviews > Fujitsu LifeBook > N3410

Budget oriented consumers will find LifeBook N3410 a cool way of owning one of the latest Fujitsu notebooks.

Launched recently with three other N-Series models featuring Windows Media Center Edition, LifeBook N3410 puts a lot of good show for the audience. It's a desktop replacement model with 15.4" Crystal View display. Ok, not as good as N3520's CRT-like version but still the colors are brighter and more vivid than what you get to see on traditional TFT screens.

The home user market is moving more and more towards the digital entertainment needs and Fujitsu has positively responded to this demand by releasing these N-Series LifeBook models in November' 05. It's time that you get rid of that old desktop which is occupying too much of table space and can't even be moved to the next room. How about watching movies while in kitchen? The possibilities are simply endless or 'infinite' as Fujitsu puts it in their slogan.

But it's not just for 'all play' stuff. Impressive computing performance is packed with 1.73 GHz of Pentium M 740 Processor. Up to 2GB of RAM can be installed which by the way is DDR2 533MHz PC2-4200 standard (incase you are wondering what those terms mean, FAST is the word that explains it all). To store all that multimedia stuff or other files, you have an option of 80GB or 100GB hard disk. You also get a Dual Layer Multi Format DVD Writer that can burn 8.5GB on a disc. But you don't get this writer if you opt for the Base configuration that only furnishes your notebook with a simple DVD/CD-RW combo.

Back to the graphics and display, the notebook makes use of Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900 card. This may not be a very good card for hardcore gaming, but is decent enough for watching movies and playing with other multimedia stuff. The graphics card doesn't have any dedicated memory of its own and may claim up to 128MB of your system memory.

The wireless connectivity is via a dual mode Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG card which is reliable as it holds Wi-Fi Protected Access and CCX Certification.

Battery life, ok that's where this model really loses out. The default one will only last about 1.75 hours but then it's suppose to replace your desktop only and not accompany you while sailing across the globe.
