Fujitsu LifeBook A6010

Review Specifications Compare Prices

Review Date: 18th November' 2006

A thin and light notebook that inherits Fujitsu's strong built and features a 15.4" Crystal View display, all packed within a reasonable weight of 6 pounds.

Don't be misguided by LifeBook A6010's sober and not so flashy form, it's not a business notebook and actually strengthens Fujitsu's presence in the mobile home computing and entertainment sector. The pre-installed Windows XP Media Center operating system hints that this is a multimedia notebook, however in contrast with other multimedia notebooks it's equipped with an integrated graphics card only.

Depending on your budget, you may opt for a 1.6GHz Intel Core Duo T2050 or a fantastic 1.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5500 processor. The latter should go long way and help you keep pace with future software releases.

What's great about the laptop is its built, user friendliness and proactive features. The screen hinges are tight, latch is well-made, sturdy plastic material forms the case and you can hardly find any flex on the body. Unlike the fragile keyboards found on many laptops, you'll find LifeBook A6010's keyboard to be concrete, yet at ease. As for the advanced features, it is equipped with a fingerprint reader that proves to be very handy when it comes to security and password protection.

Of the few drawbacks, the sluggish hard disk is a chief one. The hard disk has a rotation speed of 4200 RPM only that may sound like a bottleneck for serious users. However most home users shouldn't even notice it for everyday computing tasks. The storage capacity here is 120GB.

Overall, LifeBook A6010 boasts decent performance, excellent display and built that is designed to last longer.
