Dell's latest premium gaming notebook, the XPS M1710, is unparalleled in almost every way. From the highest performing components available, to the solid build quality and oodles of coolness it emits, the XPS M1710 is simply the best notebook money can buy.

Perhaps the most exciting component of this XPS is its graphics card. The NVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX with 512MB of DDR memory. Coupled with the M1710's 17" widescreen Truelife display makes for awesome graphics at the native resolution of 1920 x 1200. And with Truelife, you get higher contrast, better brightness and richer colors; games never looked any better than this on notebooks before.

At the heart of the XPS M1710 is Intel's latest Core Due processor, the T2600 (2.16GHz, 2MB Cache). This processor with the 2GB (max 4GB) of DDR2 RAM and the graphics card above makes the XPS M1710 the current performance king among notebooks. But that's not all, Dell went a step further in insuring top notch performance and bundled the XPS M1710 with a 7200rpm SATA hard drive (a 100GB capacity); folks, it just doesn't get any better than this.

But wait, it does. Not only is this XPS a very powerful gaming notebook, it is also a very capable media center. It does lack a built-in TV tuner but a USB version can be purchased separately anyway. What you do get, however, more than makes up for the lack of a TV Tuner.

In addition to the standard stereo speakers most laptops offer, the Dell XPS M1710 comes with a built-in subwoofer which is a rare thing for notebooks; now you can enjoy decent bass while playing your favorite games or watching DVD movies without the need for an external speaker set.

Probably at the center of the M1710's media capabilities is the Media button, pressing that instead of the power button brings the notebook almost instantly to Media Direct. Here you can play DVDs, listen to music or browse through photos without having to wait for Windows to boot up.

Add to all that the XPS M1710's solid build and feel, the attractive lid and 16 multi-colored LEDs along the sides and you got yourself one very cool looking, quite running, high performing premium gaming notebook like no other.
