Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000
Notebook Reviews > Accessories > Bluetooth Mouse 5000

Review Date: 25 Oct' 2007

The Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 is a good-quality stuff, that is, small size, appealing to the eye, and has a comfortable design. Best of all, since it uses Bluetooth technology, it doesn't require any dedicated USB port.

Installation of Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 is effortless. It only takes pressing a button on the mouse and telling Windows to make a search for it. It can be used for Mac's as well but the operating system may have some difficulty detecting the back button, which the bluetooth notebook mouse makes available at your thumb-tips.

The main buttons and scroll wheel appear to work flawlessly. Unlike the Microsoft Laser Mouse 7000, the scroll wheel is limited to up and down motion only. The accuracy you can get with this mouse is also very good and should be at 1000 dpi laser technology.

The bottom of the mouse hosts a tiny on/off switch for the bluetooth device. To save battery life, you should be powering it off after every work session. However, many would tend to forget the manually powering off requirement, and battery cells won't be able to match Microsoft's claims
.

Sometimes with small mice you find yourself having a difficult time clicking on small buttons or icons. However, this does not seem to be the case with Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000's ergonomic design and it's quite comfortable to use.
